The 6th grade students at Northside Blodgett Middle School in Corning, NY decorated a total of 329 grocery bags to be distributed by our local P&C grocery store. Many of the bags were colored at home with the help of parents, siblings, and other family members. To celebrate Earth Day '99 we also planned a neighborhood clean up. Earth Day and the need to care for the environment was the theme for most of the classwork the students did that week. Students and teachers enjoyed the many activites in which they participated and were proud to spread the message to the community.
