We decorated 465 bags!

About our project: On April 19th and 20th 2004, the students decorated paper grocery bags donated by the South Hills Mall Price Chopper. On Earth Day, April 22nd, Vassar Road PTA volunteer Liz Dupuy delivered approximately 465 decorated bags to Price Chopper Front-End Supervisor Christine Nash. Shoppers and employees were impressed with the art work and environmental messages on each bag. The whole school got involved, including the special education classes. They learned about the environment and that they could show others how they care about their planet, through their words and pictures. The students had a lot of fun! They had their parents go shopping on Earth Day, so they could get their bags back! Everyone is looking forward to doing it again next year!! Thanks for letting us participate.

We decorated 500 bags!

About our project: Our school did a great job on this project. Stop and Shop donated and we created. The environmental messages that were displayed on these bags were really impressive. Stop and Shop displayed a few on their front windows as they distributed throughout Earth Day. It was a great success and we can't wait to do it again next year!!
