We decorated 350 bags!

About our project: Thanks to Sister Mary Anne and the art teacher Mrs. Parker all the students of St Ignatius Loyola in grades Nursery through 8th grade participated in the Groceries Project during Art Class. Each grade had a "theme" to decorate their bags. The bags were very bright and colorful. On Earth Day the Girl Scouts bagged groceries at Super Stop and Shop who also displayed some bags in the store for weeks.

We decorated 370 bags!

About our project: Once again Adams Fairacre Farms provided us with bags and displayed them prominently about their store in the town of Poughkeepsie. The children did a wonderful, heartfelt job of presenting their environmental messages to the community.

We decorated 640 bags!

About our project: There was an overwhelming response to this project in our school and it became a huge success and wonderful experience for everyone. We have a total of 31 classes, Kindergarten through 5th grades. Every class participated. Many of our teachers, teaching assistants, administrators, the school nurse and office staff even decorated bags with wonderful messages. Whole Foods Market in White Plains was very receptive of the project and so generous in lending us the bags. We hope to make this an annual project at our school.

We decorated 36 bags!

About our project: It was amazing when I first introduced this idea, Youth did not understand the importance. Providing supporting information with discussion and relating it to the youth's lifestyle was a key element for their interest. Some youth were so interested they completed more than one bag. Most youth were proud and wanted to show their art work off. Thank you for this opportunity and looking forward to participate in the future.

We decorated 400 bags!

About our project: The students decorated the bags in a very creative manner while also sending the message to care for the earth! They enjoyed this project and enjoyed the fact that when people went shopping their bags would be reused...some students even went to the store on Earth Day to get a decorated bag! I recommend this project, it is fun, easy, and educational.
