We decorated 100 bags!

About our project: This is Springfield Middle School's first time participating in the Project. On Wednesday, April 21, 2004, after school, Student Council members invited their friends to join us in this Project. We had an approximate total of thirty students. The project was promoted by two local radio stations and the Springfield News. The event made front page of the newspaper!!! The kids really enjoyed the project and were truly creative. They came up with a lot of cool slogans such as "Safe-way to Earth Day." It was a worthwhile and enjoyable project! Tip: It might be a good idea to scout the type of paper bags the grocery stores are using. We used grocery bags that have printed materials on both sides. It limited a lot of the kids' creativity, and also made some of the pictures look disorganized. It worked out okay, though.
