We decorated 350 bags!

About our project: Students at Winborn Elementary decorated about 350 grocery bags. Students decorated bags during their art classes and in their homeroom classes. It was a wonderful activity and the children really enjoyed it. HEB graciously donated the bags and will distribute them to customers for Earth Day.

We decorated 750 bags!

About our project: I needed to teach the students to make a Brochure, a newletter and a flyer in Microsoft Publisher. Since Earth Day was coming up what a better subject to learn about. After checking out planetpals.com for some info., I came across your website. Wow what fun this could be, so I went to our local grocery store (H-E-B) and they we very excited to a part of the Earth Bags Project. Galm was the only school in our District that was doing a project like this. The district has made this project their feature story on the district website for this week. www.nisd.net Even our city newspaper had a small story about our efforts for Earth Day. I was very proud to have been a part of this project. Not only did the students use technology to get the message of Earth Day out to the public in their brochures, newsletters and, but the artwork was wonderful.

We decorated 169 bags!

About our project: This was our first year to participate. We handed out bags that were donated by the Kroger store at 6425 FM 1464 in Richmond. The congregation jumped in with only a week before Earth Day to get the bags done. Our Mothers Day Out had the kids work on them also. Hopefully next year we can get an early start and double the number of bags done. The store was excited about the number of bags returned.
