We decorated 400 bags!

About our project: Eight classes at Montessori Peaks Academy participated in this educational and fun project. We got 500 bags from Vitamin Cottage and 45 from Safeway.Vitamin Cottage said we could deliver the finished bags where ever we wanted. Besides Vitamin Cottage we delivered to Walgreens, CJs Coffee and other stores. The volunteer who got the bags and who delivered has this to report: I felt part of Earth Day too! As I dropped off the bags at the various stores that participated, I was greeted with enthusiasm. They said, "People LOVE these!" and "What school are they from?" And from onlookers, "Oh, how sweet!" and "I didn't know it was Earth Day. THAT'S why I saw people all over the neighborhood picking up litter!" The bags are great reminders and I loved looking at all the meaningful artwork. We will look forward to doing this project again!

We decorated 62 bags!

About our project: We had a great time and the kids loved the idea of sharing their art with others. One kid even wrote on the bag: "Hey you people. You better not throw this bag away. You need to reuse it!" I got a big kick out of thinking who may receive that bag!
