We decorated 290 bags!

About our project: Our project started as a class activity related to an Earth Day project. We were really pleased that so many other classes wanted to participate also. Some of the art work was excellent. The kids were excited about taking their parents shopping on Earth Day at the local Safeway and Co-op. we found that the bags were a great way to open conversation about choices we can make when trying to conserve the environment.

We decorated 200 bags!

About our project: Grades 4-9 students from Colonel Macleod School participated in the Earth Day Grocery Bags Project 2001. Our partner was Calgary Co-op, North Hill Centre (Manager: Bob Sasyniuk). We decorated 200 bags with environmental slogans and artwork. The bags were distributed to Co-op customers on Earth Day, April 22, 2001. As a "Green School", Colonel Macleod School will include this activity in our ongoing program to promote and care for our environment.
