We decorated 1000 bags!

About our project: Elementary students from the Bresnahan, Kelley, Brown, Immaculate Conception, and River Valley Charter Schools decorated 1000 bags with recycling and earthday messages. The bags were delivered on a rainy Earth Day but customers at Market Basket and Shaw's Supermarkets enjoyed getting this great artwork!

Look at our pictures!

We decorated 322 bags!

About our project: Kindergarten through grade 5 students in Station Avenue Elementary School worked in Mrs. Knowland's art classes to decorate 322 bags for the local A&P. The children used crayons and permanent markers to create colorful waterproof designs. Mrs. Siegel's second grade students worked together to research Earth Day facts and slogans for the school to use on the bags.

We decorated 200 bags!

About our project: Dracut High School participated in the Earth Day Grocery Bag Project for the second year. This is a wonderful environmental awareness project. This year three teachers participated, Kathy Downing, Science, Karen Taylor, Science, and Susan McGregor, Computer Science. In all, the students decorated approximately 200 bags which were delivered to Will McGinnis from Market Basket in Lowell, Massachusetts. Fun was had by all who participated! Thank you for the wonderful experience. We will participate again next year.
