We decorated 100 bags!

About our project: We decided to get our meassage out by using the grocery bags because we thought it would a fun way for kids to produce and publish an advertisement for the public. Our local grocery store is located in a small town who relies on the tourist seasons to bring in folks from other parts of our state. The students then were able to deliver them to me and we brought them down to the store

We decorated 600 bags!

About our project: Two sixth grade classes lead the school in the project as part of a required community service project that they need to complete. Each day for two weeks, a small group of these students wrote earth friendly facts that were given on morning announcements. Another group went to each classroom (22 in all) and told the other students about the project. Once all the bags were done, another small group of students judged the top three most creative bags from each grade level. The winners got small prizes. The bags were then taken to the stores. I got many compliments on the project, not to mention a lot of enthusiastic support!
