We decorated 753 bags!

About our project: Tritt Elementary participated in the Groceries project this year full steam ahead. 753 out of approximately 850 students created beautiful messages on their bags, and turned them in as requested. Kroger is still distributing these beautiful bags to their patrons!

We decorated 685 bags!

About our project: We tried to coordinate different schools, organizations and events into 1 big project. Mountain Park Elementary, First Montessori School of Atlanta and 'Lil People Day Care were our participating schools with a total of 278 bags. We had booths at the Atlanta Home Show, Green Day at Zoo Atlanta and our Earth Day Kids Fest for an event total of 407 bags. The bags were distributed between three area Whole Foods Markets, two in Atlanta and one in Duluth. We were astounded at the creativity and quality we received from the schools. The lesson plans were incorporated with the artistry and it really showed. We hope to try this project again next year with more participating schools and organizations. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity. We would also like to thank Whole Foods Markets, our participating schools and of course our imaginative kids!

We decorated 600 bags!

About our project: This is our first year doing the program. The bags were a big hit at the store. Maybe some year we should make a push to decorate canvas bags that are sold at the store.

We decorated 87 bags!

About our project: We happened upon this project by accident really, and we are SO happy we did! The grocery was very happy to include us in their Earth Day celebrations, and the children really got into decorating the bags. We learned so much along the way in our discussions about why earth day is important everyday. I asked permission to copy the logo and made buttons for the children to wear. Since we are a preschool, and so many of the decorations were "unreadable" by the general population, we also included the logo on a little tie on each bag so folks could visit the web site and understand why we decorated their bag. We really felt that we were a part of spreading the word! Thank you!!
