We decorated 470 bags!

About our project: My kids had a great time discussing ways to help the environment! We used the powerpoint slide show to stimulate the discussion. When finished, students started right in on decorating their bags. Almost every student had an idea and was ready to go! Several of my 5th grade students created multiple bags with very diverse images and words - all amazing. For 1st grade, I used paper plates for them to trace to create their own world - then they took it from there!

About our project: Again, our entire school participated in decorating Earth Day grocery bags to be distributed in our community through our local market. Customers look forward each year to seeing the students' art work and appreciate being reminded to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

We decorated 71 bags!

About our project: We did this project as part of a cooperative partnership experience between 2nd and 6th grade students. Each 2nd grader was paired with a 6th grader, and each pair was responsible for designing and decorating at least one bag as a team. It was great fun and we had a blast! What a great idea - I'll definitely be participating next year.

Look at our pictures!
