We decorated 319 bags!

About our project: I came across this project very close to Earth Day so it was hurried this year. After telling our faculty about it most of the classes participated and enjoyed seeing the PowerPoint Presentation. Our local grocery store was happy to participate and even delivered the bags to us. I then took them back in time for display and use on April 22. We are hoping for local coverage in the newspaper too. This was a great and worthwhiled project and easy too. Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful idea.

We decorated 90 bags!

About our project: Celebrate the Earth... do NOT act like humans are the ONLY species on Earth! We decorated our bags as a return to sanity after another week of state-mandated testing... what a refreshing lesson to recover with ;-)

We decorated 40 bags!

About our project: My student teacher had a great time with this activity. The kids learned about recycling from an interactive website and then applied what they learned to the artwork on their bags.

We decorated 500 bags!

About our project: This is the first year that North Rock Creek/Korte has participated in the event. We are an environmental science magnet school in the Kansas City Missouri School District. We have an on-going recycling program and teach environmental education year-round. This project is one of the ways we have added to our Earth Day curriculum. We have an entire curriculum set aside for Earth Day and this project helped us make the community more aware of Earth Day and what they can do to help us help the Earth. It was enjoyed by all of the students and the community as well!
