We decorated 550 bags!

About our project: I had my classes write to the public and place signs around the school to help make people aware of Earth Day. Some students came back to school the following week and said they saw our bags being used and made their parents use paper bags also.

We decorated 250 bags!

About our project: For the second year in a row, Shop 'N Save offered to participate with us. Our students decorated 250 brown bags, and we also wrote Earth Day facts on index cards, which we stapled inside of the bag for shoppers to read. The index cards shared info about easy ways to be "earth friendly" to hopefully raise community awareness about the goals of Earth Day. The kids created great bags and had fun doing the project!

We decorated 60 bags!

About our project: I am currently conducting research on incorporating environmental education into my 3rd grade classroom to see if it can alter students knowledge and attitudes towards environmental issues. Our 5th grade science teacher Mrs. Smith emailed me the information about this project because it dealt with science, earth day, and my research. We collaborated together and asked our PE teacher (who is married to the owner of the town grocery store) if she could aquire some paper sacks for our students to work on for earth day. The students seemed to really enjoy the project and there were some GREAT drawings and messages about earth day. Thanks for the great project and we look forward to participating next year!!

We decorated 50 bags!

About our project: The children were working on their use resources wisely petal. I found this website and thought this would be a perfect opportunity for the girls to spread the importance of recycling and taking care of our world to others. This is a wonderful project that we were thrilled to be a part of. Thank you! Daisy Girl Scout Troop 1180
