We decorated 451 bags!

About our project: This is our sixth year participating in this project. We decorated 451 bags! This year our students came up with new ideas to illustrate their bags. Some of them drew cartoons; some made the Earth into animal bodies, some coloured different things using the beautiful green and blue patterns of the Earth. We were in the newspaper twice because Earth Day is becomming more and more a community concern. Our Peace Pal team spent their lunch hours in the gym decorating posters and banners. We would like to send our sincere thanks once again to the Loblaws Grocery Store who ordered extra bags for us to decorate! We enjoy participating in this project every year. We would like to thank Mark Ahlness for maintaining his wonderful Web Site!

We decorated 500 bags!

About our project: Our school is promoting the United Nations billion tree campaign in all Riverside School Board schools. We are going to raise money for Earth Day Canada. Two students will be going class to class talking about earth day. Last year our school carried out a successful anti-idling campaign. Our school buses do not idle anymore. All our visitors also turn their car engines off when they wait outside. We are preparing posters for all our school to encourage them to stop idling.
