We decorated 150 bags!

About our project: This is the first year that St. Peter has participated in this activity. My daughters, who attend another school, have been involved in this project for a couple of years, and I thought I would like to introduce the activity to the school I work in. The students previewed the web site and slide show, and enjoyed decorating the bags for the grocery store in Beamsville. We did have some difficulties getting the bags as unfortunately grocers called within our local area were not interested in the activity. We hope to continue the activity again next year....it is an inexpensive and simple way to get the message out there - that we all need to take care of our Earth for the next generation and beyond.

We decorated 535 bags!

About our project: The students of Alexander School decorated 535 Earth Day Bags with many Earth Day messages and excellent drawings. Our sponsoring store is Sobey's. The bags will be used on Earth Day. We started decorating the bags after our March break and they were due on April 12th...this really worked. It is good to start early and have them ready and to the store the week before...last year we received many calls from the people in the community telling us how much they enjoyed getting the beautiful paper bags with our earth day messages on them...our school along with Sobey's love participating in the activity because we need to get the message across that our Earth is important and we need to take care of it and what a better way to do it through this activity.

Look at our pictures!
